related to pregnancy, unsafe abortion, or childbirth. This is preventable — all it takes is political will and resources. The Pram March is RFSU’s annual campaign to raise awareness and mobilize action for global sexual and reproductive health and rights. Since 2010, it has brought together tens of thousands across Sweden in the fight to end maternal mortality. Each year, participants receive specially designed rain covers, scarves, bags, and flags, all created by a guest artist — transforming the streets into a vibrant, moving artwork that amplifies the march’s message. The 2022 motif, created by Sepidar Hosseini, featured a striking typographic pattern in bold signal colors. It was built from the letterforms of the Barmer Katab typeface, which originally was collaboratively developed by 13 craftswomen from the Thar Desert in Rajasthan, India, as part of the community building project The Typecraft Initiative. Södertälje is a 7.5 x 7.5-meter outdoor dance floor with a pattern-covered dome, where visitors can connect via Bluetooth, play music, and dance. Designed between 2017 and 2018 by the Dansbana! association in collaboration with local dancers from Södertälje, the project aimed to empower young girls’ engagement in the public space. The dome motif, commissioned by Grafikens Hus (The House of Graphic Art), was developed through a participatory design process in which Sepidar Hosseini collaborated with final-year art students at Wendela Hebbegymnasiet over six workshop sessions. The aim was to create a legible pattern that could be experienced on multiple levels — as a visual rhythm, a coded message, and an artisticnexpression of collective movement, emerging from the concept of dance. Guided by Sepidar with the support of dancer and choreographer Afra Hosseini the students worked with the shapes and sounds of letters and translated them into movement. typography-driven visual identity was developed for the audio-visual group exhibition Folkmusik 2.0 — Swedish Hiphop Remixed, held at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, Stockholm’s central arts and culture hub. The design featured large-scale supergraphics and a custom wayfinding system that spanned the entire 450-square-meter exhibition space — from floor to ceiling. The concept sought to capture the pulse of the city, transforming the space into a loud urban landscape where echoes of iconic lines from Swedish hip hop history unfolded as typographic samplings across the façades — positioning hip hop as one of the most vital cultural forces of our time. The typography was a contemporary interpretation and adaptation of the black-letter style, a visual language long associated with the genre, particularly through tattoo culture. Lighting was both rendered graphically — in the form of printed color spotlights — and enacted physically through directed lamps, evoking the feeling of “taking the stage”.
